Uninterruptible Power Supply
As is evident from its name, Uninterrupted Power Supply is continuous. In generators you are left without power until the generator starts to operate. Systems using UPS do not sense the blackouts. Your lights never go off, your computers never shut down. Even the fastest generator starts operating 10 seconds after the blackout. It should be kept in mind that there is no difference between a 1 second blackout and 10 second blackout. Because all devices running on power will already be shut down.
They are systems which filter impairments (increases, breakdowns, harmonics, frequency deviations, voltage fluctuations) and noises occurring in the networks connected to electrical-electronic devices thus feeding a stable voltage with constant amplitude and continuing to feed during a certain period without making the load evident in blackout conditions.
By this way, UPS devices provide protection from interference, unbalanced voltage and fluctuations in city electricity, procure constant voltage and at the same time work continuously by starting the embedded storage battery during the blackout.
In fact UPS systems and generators cannot be used interchangeably. On the contrary they are products which must be used in combination.. UPS systems continuously conveys the electric energy produced electronically to the load while Generator has backup source quality. In Project design phase of all critical points UPs and Generators are used in combination. UPS and Generators even have backups.
